Vuforia Capture User Onboarding

MOTIVATION

  • To see true value in our offering, customers & users need a frictionless first touch-point in AR to mitigate upfront concerns around usability and speed of adoption.

  • Due to the relatively nascent AR hardware market, successful software solutions for HMDs need innovative approaches to onboarding users.

GROUP STRUCTURE & MY ROLE

I identified the business value in pursuing this project, collaborated with stakeholders in product management and development, then scoped and drove this effort along with the input of core stakeholders across a 4-month period during my rotation on the Vuforia Work Instructions Software Development team. I provided the team with weekly updates and organized touchpoint meetings to demo the app at key stages.

In addition to the HoloLens application, Output included recommended usability improvements and a strategy around the features of an onboarding experience to prioritize.

Tools used: HoloLens 2, Unity, C#, Visual Studio, MRTK, Procreate, open-source TTS tool
